Overview
We study the nonlinear, dynamic properties of neurons and neuron populations. Our techniques include mathematical modeling, computer simulation, and real-time hardware development.
Goals
- understand the input / output properties of neurons and networks
- understand the relationships between underlying physical mechanisms and the activities that they induce
- understand the importance of nonlinearity and of dynamics over many orders of temporal magnitude
