Four-bar Applet: Is wide stance more stable?

The four-bar linkage is tuned with kp=600 and kv=100 to be critically stable at a stance ratio of 1.0. Does increasing the stance ratio to 1.5 stabilize the system? How about decreasing the stance ratio to 0.7?

  • Left-clicking on the model area will reset the simulation.
  • Right-clicking on the model area will pause the simulation. Model will automatically pause if simulation error grows to large.
  • Parameters can be changed by clicking and dragging the sliders.
  • Center-of-mass or hip feedback signals can be selected by clicking on the appropriate radio button.
